Skills removed from Cisco show up in OpsTel.

Frequency:

Often (whenever skills are removed)

User Symptoms:

Skills removed in Cisco UCCE are still showing up in SPEED after the Nightly Sync job runs.

Technical Details:

Changes made in Cisco UCCE, to remove or deactivate skills, do not flow over to SPEED during the Nightly Sync job runs. Examples: CCM1.CCO_SSR2_ECI, CCM1.CCO.SEL_Solar_SSR2 are still present in SPEED's list of skills.

Currently, the customer's method to deactivate a skill in Cisco UCCE is usually to alter the skill name to include the characters "ZZ_". However, these renamed skills are being imported separately into SPEED as new skills, while leaving the originally named skills intact. SPEED users will currently see both the original skills as well as the newly imported "ZZ_" skills, even though neither should be viewable.

Recommended Workaround:

Log a ticket with OpsTel to remove the skills from SPEED manually, to prevent users from accidentally picking deactivated skills when creating Skill Actions.

Until the full fix for this is released  -- where deactivated skills will be removed completely from the skills list in SPEED --  temporary "removal" process will involve manually renaming the original skills to add "ZZ_", and then removing the redundant ones just imported. This workaround fix will at least prevent SPEED users from accidentally picking the originally-named skills.

Resolution:

This was fixed in a release in May 2022.
